Some argue that these signs will be confined to the Tribulation and will be provided for the benefit of those living during the Tribulation. In other words, the signs have no relevance to.

COMPARISON OF CHRIST'S "OLIVET DISCOURSE" AND REVELATION SIX" MATT. TUESDAY AFTERNOON APRIL 4: A.D. And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple AFTERNOON and his disciples came to him for to.
The proper context of the Olivet Discourse is the desolation of the temple, not the end times. The Disciples understood the prophecy in the 70 weeks of Daniel 9 that foretold that the temple and city would be desolated, because the Jewish leaders would deliver Messiah up to be killed; so they wanted to know more about when it would happen.
In the Olivet Discourse, the second half of the tribulation is described in Matthew Persecution of the Jews and death (verse 9) will be the result of the Beast’s rise to power. The Antichrist will also persecute anyone who refuses to follow him (Revelation ).The salvation promised in Matthew is deliverance from the Beast’s persecution.
Jesus’ instruction to His disciples from the Mount of Olives (Mount Olivet, giving it the name the Olivet Discourse) appears in Matthew 24—25; Mark 13; and Luke – It is one of the Bible’s most important texts because it not only provides the Lord’s final discourse but also His most extensive prophetic teaching.
Jesus gave three great messages which are recorded in Matthew: The Sermon on the Mount (Chapters ), the Sermon on the Sea (Chapter 13), and the Olivet Discourse (Chapters ). The passage in Matthew 13 is less well-known than the Olivet Discourse.
It consists of seven parables which our Lord told all in one day. The mystery of Revelation is unfolded by the Prophet, the Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation is based on the prophetic themes of the Old Testament and the development of those themes in the Olivet Discourse.
The Olivet Discourse is the last major teaching section of Jesus, that he gave on the Mount of Olives, as recorded in Matthew, Mark, and Luke (Matthew ; Mark ; Luke ).
It deals with the signs of Christ's return and events associated with it. In this book Gentry is a thorough, fast-moving, no nonsense writer. He begins by detailing Olivet's "narrative context" in the first 23 chapters of Matthew.
I was so excited to understand the build-up to Matthew 24 in the whole context of the preceding chapters. This makes the Olivet Discourse fit right in to what Matthew is trying to s: It makes sense that since Jesus is the author of both the Olivet Discourse and the Book of Revelation (see Rev.
), and that since both accounts deal with the coming of Christ, the two accounts should parallel, define and clarify one other. and the man of lawlessness is revealed " (2 Thess ). The Book of Revelation speaks of the. Either way, this fifth collection of teaching is commonly known as the Olivet Discourse because, even if Matthew 23 is included, the bulk of the discourse is delivered on the Mount of Olives.
No teaching of Christ has generated as much controversy as the portion of the Olivet Discourse recorded in. The Olivet Discourse In the Gospel of Matthew, there are three great discourses having to do with “the Kingdom of Heaven.” First there is “the Sermon on the Mount,” chaptersgiving the laws of the kingdom.
Then there are “the Parables of the Kingdom,” chapter thirteen, giving the trend of the mystery form of the kingdom. The Olivet Discourse is full of what we call “signs of the times” that point to the Lord’s return. Some argue that these signs will be confined to the Tribulation and will be provided for the benefit of those living during the Tribulation.
The Olivet Discourse is a private briefing between the disciples and Jesus. Keep in mind the setting of in which things are happening. The disciples were asking a question that is easily misunderstood, which was when is the temple going to be rebuilt.
The Olivet Discourse and “The Days Shall Be Shortened” It is claimed by those who see two comings of Christ in the Olivet Discourse, that there are a series of powerful contrasts between the so-called first section of Matthew – Matthew constituting Jesus’ discussion of the coming judgment of Jerusalem in AD 70– and the.
Introduction. Lately, I’ve been hearing many in the church insist the Olivet Discourse – found in MatthewMarkand Luke – does not mention the rapture of the church and is solely for Israel in light of Jacob’s Trouble (Jeremiah ). At this point it will be interesting to compare, as on the next three pages, Christ's "Olivet Discourse" (Matt.
), with the "Six Seals" of Rev. The similarity between them is most striking, and proves that the author of the "Olivet Discourse" foreknew, in the "Days of His Flesh," in their exact order, the things that shall come.In the Gospel of Matthew, there are three great discourses having to do with “the Kingdom of Heaven.” First there is “the Sermon on the Mount,” chaptersgiving the laws of the kingdom.
Then there are “the Parables of the Kingdom,” chapter thirteen, giving the trend of the mystery form of the kingdom. Finally there is “the Olivet Discourse,” which gives us much information.
